DACHSER Americas Management Forum 2023: North- and South America as a part of a future Global Groupage network
From May 22 to 25, 2023, members of the DACHSER Executive Board and the Americas management team gathered in Miami for this year’s DACHSER Americas Management Forum. A particular focus was put on the interlocking of the DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics and DACHSER European Logistics networks and on Global Groupage.
Besides a look at the individual country organizations of DACHSER in the Americas – USA, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Peru – global strategic focus programs were on the agenda of the Americas Management Forum 2023. The Americas management team around Ralph Riehl, Managing Director Air & Sea Logistics (ASL) Americas, presented the development of the Americas region. CEO Burkhard Eling, COO Air & Sea Logistics Edoardo Podestà and Dr. Tobias Burger, Deputy Director Air & Sea Logistics, provided insights into the global and the ASL strategy.
Global Groupage in focus
COO Road Logistics Alexander Tonn had joined the meeting as well and turned the spotlight on the capabilities of the road logistics network in Europe. With Alexander Tonn being on site personally in a region where DACHSER is solely present with air and sea freight services, the importance of the interlocking of the two business fields was brought into focus.
In the future, DACHSER will extend its focus on Global Groupage even further, bringing particular benefit to customers in the Americas with LCL and airfreight shipments to and from Europe. Thanks to enhanced operational and digital processes, the dense overland network with almost 300 own branches and partner locations in 37 countries in Europe and Maghreb will be even closer to customers stateside and in other Americas regions such as Mexico and Brazil. The result will be a substantial breakthrough, providing door-to-door service with IT tracking, high transport quality and fast, reliable transit times from just one single source.
