Protests in Peru: impact on local DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics operations
Due to the ongoing protests in Peru, logistics operations in the South American country are currently experiencing constraints. In the meantime, this also has an impact on shipments of DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics in the area.
Due to roadblocks in several regions of the country, trucking operations within Peru are restricted. Several smaller airports have experienced or are experiencing temporary closures, including Cuzco (CUZ), Arequipa (AQP), Juliaca (JUL) and Andahuaylas (ANS). Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM) in the capital of Lima remains fully operational under enhanced security measures.
Shipments of DACHSER with perishable freight are affected in particular, mainly applying to the transportation of fruits and vegetables. For the current export of mangoes, alternative routes via neighboring countries are under consideration. Effects on the export of pomegranates, where the season is about to start in February, are still under evaluation.
Further information will follow if the current situation is subject to any change. If you have questions about your shipment, please feel free to contact your usual DACHSER representative for information. The teams at DACHSER work consistently to find a solution for every shipment.
